Japan invests 8 million USD to build a food processing factory in Can Tho

Onn the afternoon of June 7, Takesho Vietnam Food Co., Ltd (Japanese-invested enterprise) held the Opening Ceremony of Takesho Food Food Processing Factory in Can Tho City.

Attending online from the bridge on the Japanese side was Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam. Attending directly at the opening ceremony were Mr. Watanabe Nobuhiro, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee; representatives of leaders of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Can Tho City; The Vietnam – Japan Friendship Association in Can Tho City and related departments and branches.

Accordingly, the Takesho Food Food Processing Factory project has a total investment of 8 million USD, located in Tra Noc 2 Industrial Park, O Mon District (Can Tho City) with an area of 20,996 square meters, designed and invested Modern construction investment from Japanese contractors.

The project objectives are processing and production of spices, ingredients, wholesale of food, machinery, equipment and spare parts, research and experimental development of natural sciences and engineering.

 

Mr. Nguyen Van Hong – Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee – said that, when put into operation, the project will make a significant contribution to the economic recovery process and create jobs for local workers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Toshinao Tanaka, Chairman of Takesho Food Co., Ltd. Vietnam highly appreciated the investment potential in Can Tho city. According to Mr. Toshinao Tanaka, between Can Tho City and Niigata province (where the Takesho company is headquartered) have many things in common, they are both located near the mouth of a large river, are blessed by nature for agricultural and aquatic products, have many food processing companies…

Mr. Toshinao Tanaka said that the purpose of Takesho Vietnam Food Co., Ltd. when investing in Can Tho City is aimed at building and forming a food valley in the Mekong Delta. Specifically, through the coordination with the SDMD (Sustainable Development for Mekong Delta) that Can Tho University and JICA are conducting, focusing on the food processing industry, building the Mekong Delta food valley similar to the Niigata food valley, improving the competitiveness of the food industry in the region area.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Hong – Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People’s Committee – also said that, when put into operation, the project will make a significant contribution to the economic recovery process, creating jobs for local workers, especially to strengthen the good relationship between Can Tho City and Japanese investors. “Can Tho City is committed to supporting, accompanying businesses throughout the operation process so that investors can feel secure in their operation, successfully deploy the project, comply with the law,” said Mr. Hong. strong.

Speaking from the Japanese online point, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Vu Hong Nam expressed his impression and appreciated the cooperation between Takesho Vietnam Food Co., Ltd., Can Tho University and the international cooperation agency JICA has coordinated, researched, taken advantage of the rich and sustainable resources of seafood in the Mekong Delta region, processed spices from shrimp waste products, shrimp shells and pangasius….increase the value of products. He said that this is also one of the events bringing the diversification strategy for the relationship between Japan and Vietnam.

Vietnam and Can Tho University produces – processes products from rice flour and seasoning powder, the taste of 100% of ingredients taken from agricultural, aquatic – seafood products of the Mekong Delta is very important, contributing to improving product value and promising to bring many developments in the field of food processing technology products locally.
